Annual Topical Meeting on Nuclear and Radiation Safety
In order to analyse modern
tendencies in ensuring nuclear and radiation safety and to define directions
for enhancing activities of the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee of Ukraine
there was introduced a practice of conducting the Annual Topical Meeting on Nuclear and Radiation Safety that is taking
place on December 5 - the date of the SNRCU foundation.
Such a way of celebration of the regular anniversary of the SNRCU
activity allows to make a professional overview of the modern tendencies in
different spheres of nuclear and radiation safety regulation, to present the
best international practices and experience, to organize professional
discussions on actual issues of safety with participation of the leading
specialists, talented youth, scientific public organizations in order to
identify the problems and find ways of their optimal solutions while planning
the SNRCU activities.
The Organisational and the Programme
Committees were established by the SNRCU Ordinance of 21.02.2008 № 32 for
preparation of such an important event. The Programme Committee, in addition to
the SNRCU top management, includes the following persons: Neckludov
I.M. – Academician, Secretary of the Department on Nuclear Physics and Energy
of the NASU, Director of the NSC “Kharkiv
physical-technical institute”; Serduk A.M. –
Corresponding Member of the AMS, Professor, Director of the O.M.Marseev
Institute on Hygiene and Medical Ecology of the AMS; Kurykin
S.I. – Leader of the Green Party of Ukraine; Shteynberg
M.O. – Chairman of the SNRCU’s Consultative Council
on Reactor Safety, Member of the Group of Consultants of the IAEA General
Director; Vasylchennko V.M. – Director of the SE
“State Scientific-Technical Centre on Nuclear and Radiation Safety”.
The Programme Committee has chosen four topical directions for the
seminar in 2008, appointed heads of the sections and developed a draft of the Programme
for the seminar (attached).
In order to participate in the seminar and the topical professional
discussions it is necessary to provide a Registration
Form to the Organisational Committee not later than November 15, 2008 by
