Upon invitation of the State Nuclear Regulatory Committee on 12-16 March, 2007 the technical group of IAEA experts worked in Ukraine. The work of group was realized in frame of "Nuclear safety" fund program and aimed to technical audit of exposure installations which contain the spent high-level ionizing sources and are under action of the state program "Providing of safety storage of spent high-level ionizing sources" approved by decree of Cabinet of Ministries of Ukraine dated  03.08.06 № 1092. As IAEA experts this mission also included specialists of manufacturing company "Izotop" (Moscow, Russian Federation) winch have sufficient positive experience of performance of works on safe dismantling of similar installations. During this work the installations at "Radon" complex in Kiev and Odessa have been inspected. Upon inspection results the recommendations concerning safe performance of works on removal of spent ionizing sources from installations and    transfer them to the safe storage should be developed by experts. Also experts shall submit to IAEA the calculation of essential technical assistance.
